Music feeds your soul just as food feeds your body. Be mindful of the music that you put into your system. If you are a fan of danceable beats and know the lyrics are garbage, search for the instrumental. Don't tolerate lyrics and artist's music that you know are trash. All of that simon says music out there now is a waste of studio time and energy. Commercial hip hop is DEAD... If an artist isn't saying anything worth hearing, move on and search for an artist and music that is worth your time and listening enjoyment.
